Genealogical research is individual and unique to every family and no one size fits all.

Celtic Kinfolk aims to offer you bespoke genealogical research that is tailored to meet your needs and expectations, with clear objectives agreed on the outset.

All research undertaken is comprehensive and spans a range of traditional records such as Birth, Marriage, Death/Burial, and Census Records, together with documents such as Wills, Land Records, Valuations, Charters, Retours & Sasines, Archival Searches, and Directories. The aim is to unearth and validate all the possible links associated with your family so that a full picture of who your Ancestors were emerges, as well as placing them in the full context of when and where they were born.

Fixed Price Research

All research is backed up with fully referenced report including the following:

  • Analysis and evaluation of evidence.

  • Images of any official documentation found, such as church records etc. when available (original copies may be available for some documents at cost price).

  • Transcription of difficult to read documents.

  • Pedigree chart.

  • Family Group Sheet, where applicable.

  • Avenues explored where no definitive evidence if found.

  • Historical context and background.

  • PDF Files & GED File (Genealogical Data Communication).

Prices:

  • $240 for single surname lines - Includes you, your parents, grandparents etc. through one parent (paternal/maternal surname lines unless specified differently) - up to four generations.

  • $400 for both parents direct lines - Includes you, your parents, grandparents etc. through both parents (paternal/maternal surname lines unless specified differently) - up to four generations.

  • $550 for All grandparent direct lines - up to four generations.

  • All fixed packages can be adapted to suit individual requirements.

  • Additional costs for original certificates may be required.

Bespoke Research

Individual and bespoke research is also offered at an hourly rate of $40, or is negotiable depending on the size of the project. All prices can be fixed in advance.

Examples include:

  • Research on a Family Home or property.

  • Research of a Family Business.

  • General research on an area/place.
